India’s batting unit made a mockery of the 173-run target set by Afghanistan in the second T20I at Holkar Indoor Stadium in Indore. In pursuit of a steep target, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma departed on the very first ball of his innings.

India had come up with a solitary plan to attack, and they followed that despite Rohit's early departure. Virat Kohli joined hands with Yashasvi Jaiswal and put on a 57-run partnership off just 28 balls for the second wicket.

That partnership laid the foundation for the successful run-chase on Sunday. Both Virat Kohli and Jaiswal looked to attack and didn’t allow the Afghanistan bowlers to settle down. Virat Kohli, though, got out after playing an attacking knock of 29 runs in 16 deliveries.

After the match, BCCI posted a video on Twitter in which Yashasvi Jaiswal shed light on his partnership with Virat Kohli.

"It is always a pleasure to play with Virat (Kohli) bhaiya. It's an honour to play with him. We were having a conversation about in which area and what shots we could play," Jaiswal said.

Yashasvi Jaiswal put on an exhibition of fours and sixes in the second innings. He smashed five fours and six sixes en route to his 68-run knock in just 34 balls, helping India chase down the target in just 15.4 overs. During his innings, Jaiswal had just one thought in his mind, i.e., to give the team an ideal start, and he did that to perfection.

Jaiswal was provided ideal support by Shivam Dube, who notched his second consecutive half-century on Sunday. Dube wreaked havoc with the bat at Holkar Indoor Stadium, hitting as many as five sixes.

Dube played an unbeaten knock of 60 runs off just 40 deliveries and has now become a potential candidate in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2023.

India have sealed the three-match T20I series 2-0. The third and final T20 international against Afghanistan is slated to be played on January 17 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
