Cricket fans worldwide eagerly anticipate Virat Kohli's return to the field, especially with the IPL 2024 on the horizon.

AB de Villiers, former South African cricket star and RCB legend, recently hinted at Kohli's comeback, sparking excitement among fans. Kohli's absence from the recent Test series against England fuelled speculation about his future in the IPL.

De Villiers, a close friend of Kohli, disclosed a potential reunion with the Royal Challengers Bangalore during his YouTube channel discussion.

He shared,

"Virat Kohli has hinted that he might want me to come over just to spend a bit of time with him and some of the batter perhaps."

Although De Villiers didn't confirm his return to RCB, his words suggest Kohli's involvement in the upcoming IPL season.

Kohli's hiatus from cricket, prompted by personal reasons including the birth of his second child, stirred uncertainties regarding his IPL participation.

However, De Villiers' revelation hints otherwise. Despite concerns raised by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar about Kohli's IPL prospects, De Villiers' insight casts doubt on such speculations.

Gavaskar expressed some doubts regarding Virat Kohli's potential participation in the IPL 2024. Gavaskar's concerns arose after Kohli's absence from all five Test matches against England.

He voiced his apprehension during a Star Sports event at the Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi, questioning,

"Kya woh khelenge... kuch reason ke liye khel nahi rahe hain, shaayad ho sakta hai ki IPL ki liye bhi na khelein."

Kohli's last appearance on the cricket field was on January 17, and fans eagerly await his return. His absence from recent matches and limited cricket since the World Cup 2023 final against Australia in November heightened anticipation for his comeback.

Despite Kohli's withdrawal from the England Test series and the subsequent T20Is against Afghanistan, his potential participation in the IPL 2024 remains a subject of immense interest.
