India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour, has unequivocally supported Rajat Patidar, a middle-order batter for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and currently playing vs ENG, amidst scrutiny following consecutive poor performances.

Rathour emphasized the cricketing adage that a player's abilities shouldn't be judged solely on a couple of matches, reiterating Patidar's merit and potential.

"In our discussions with him, one key point is to understand the fluctuating nature of the sport. Despite recent setbacks, his prior performances speak volumes about his capabilities. Two games don't define his skillset," Rathour conveyed during the pre-match media briefing.

Rathour bolstered his endorsement by highlighting Patidar's track record, including his notable contributions in domestic tournaments and for the India A team, which earned him his international debut.

Despite encountering challenging dismissals, Rathour expressed confidence in Patidar's resilience and anticipates him delivering impactful innings.

"He possesses significant talent, evident from his consistent performances across various cricketing platforms. Occasionally, he faced unconventional challenges, but such experiences are intrinsic to the game. Patidar's prowess is unquestionable, and he has the potential to sway matches in our favor," Rathour affirmed, underscoring his unwavering support for the embattled player.

Rathour's statements not only defend Patidar's current form but also underscore the faith the coaching staff holds in his abilities, while Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel have had impactful debuts it would be interesting to see what the future holds for Patidar as we near the Ranchi Test.
