What If Remaining Asia Cup Games Are Washed Out | Who Will Qualify For Final?

The Asia Cup 2023 has been a spectacle of sheer competitiveness, with the cricketing powerhouses giving a run for the money to their counterparts. However, amidst quality cricket, what has grabbed more attention is the unstable weather in Colombo, with every other game being marred by rain and thunderstorm. The high-voltage India versus Pakistan game is the most recent encounter to face the wrath of weather Gods, as the game lasted for two days, with the latter emerging victorious over their arch-rivals by a whopping 228-run margin.

Meanwhile, as the weather forecast doesn't look promising for this week, there's a significant chance that a few of the remaining Asia Cup games could be interrupted due to rain. So, what if, in an albeit unlikely scenario, the rest of the matches are called off?

Who will qualify for final if remaining Asia Cup games are washed out?

The Asia Cup has already witnessed nine fixtures, with only three games still to be played before the all-important final. Sri Lanka will take on India and Pakistan in the first two games, while Bangladesh will lock horns with India in the final group-stage game.

However, if all the matches conclude in no result, each team will get one point each from their respective fixtures. So, India and Sri Lanka will take their tally to 4 points, while Pakistan will suffer a Super four elimination with three points to their name.

Therefore, India and Sri Lanka, being the top two teams in the standings, will qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final, set to be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
