Promising Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal took the cricketing world by storm tonight, hammering the fastest-ever fifty in the history of the Indian Premier League. Opening the batting alongside veteran English batter Jos Buttler, Jaiswal stunned Kolkata Knight Riders in front of their home crowd, smashing a 13-ball half century and registering the aforementioned milestone.
His knock was an eye-popping exhibition of brutality, as he struck seven fours and three sixes to complete his fifty within the first three overs of the Royals' innings. Following his belligerent knock, the stylish southpaw from Mumbai earned accolades from all corners of the world, including legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Kohli lauded Jaiswal for his fireworks, terming his batting as one the bests he has seen in a while.
After being invited to bat first, KKR managed a respectable 149-run total on the board, thanks to a fighting half century from Venkatesh Iyer. However, Jaiswal cleared his intentions right from the word go, taking the KKR bowlers to the cleaners.
