After back-to-back wins in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Thailand today. Opting to bat first, Bismah Maroof -led XI managed just 116 runs in their quote of 20 overs, with Sidra Ameen top-scoring with 56.

Chasing 117, Natthakan Chantham starred with the bat for Thailand scoring a 51-ball 61, enabling her side to their first win of the seven-nation tournament; first-ever against Pakistan as well.

Skipper Maroof lashed out at her batters, who failed to convert starts into big scores at Sylhet in the post-match conference.  So far in three T20Is, Ameen is Pakistan's leading run-scorer with 123 runs.

Maroof on loss

"Disappointed with the way we batted. Our batters haven't showed the intent. They have to be blamed today. The set batters were there but they could not push on. 130+ couldve been a good total and as a captain I'm disappointed we did not get there. We had Kainat but she could not execute her plans."

Pakistan takes on arch-rivals India led by Harmanpreet Kaur, who are on a three-match winning streak on Friday.
