One of the bright lights for West Indies thus far in the ongoing first Test against India at Dominica has been all-rounder, Rahkeem Cornwall. The off-spinning all-rounder bowled as many as 11 overs on Day 2 on Thursday, creating problems for both Rohit Sharma and Yashavi Jaiswal, who were looking in complete control until then.

The young left-handed over even survived a DRS call against Cornwall for caught-behind, but the 30-year-old went off the field just minutes before lunch on Day 2 and did not take the field after the resumption.

Now as tweeted out by Caribbean Cricket Podcast, Cornwall could have a chest infection. However, nothing has been confirmed by Cricket West Indies or Team Windies.

Debutant Alick Athanaze stood up for West Indies and dished out 13 overs, including the massive wicket of Rohit Sharma, who was batting on 103.

Cornwall is making a return to the Test arena after being dropped in 2021 following a string of poor outings. In 10 Tests, Cornwall has scored 257 runs and claimed 34 wickets for West Indies since 2019.

Speaking about the ongoing Test, India are 312 for 2, with Jaiswal and Virat Kohli batting on 143* and 36*, respectively, with the visitors leading by 162 runs at stumps on Day 2.

Hosts West Indies were bundled out for 150 on Day 1, as Ravichandran Ashwin claimed his 33rd five-wicket haul.
