When Rajasthan Royals face off against Mumbai Indians, the drama never seems to end. In the upcoming encounter of tonight, it's poised to be a battle between two of the IPL's batting powerhouses. This matchup could mirror the intensity of their clash in 2023 at Wankhede Stadium, where Tim David showcased his dominance.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a ton

Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat at Wankhede, a venue where captains generally opt to bowl first due to the dew factor. The first half was all about Yashasvi Jaiswal's extraordinary performance.

Being his home ground, Wankhede seemed to bring out the best in him as he showcased a top-class performance against Mumbai, scoring 124 runs from just 62 balls. Notably, none of the other Rajasthan batters managed to score over 20 runs, setting a target of 213 for MI.

MI, known for their strong batting lineup in 2023, often relied on their batsmen to make up for their bowlers leaking runs in games. This time was no different, with MI's main man Surya Kumar Yadav firing once again with a quick 55 runs from 29 balls, supported by Cameron Green, who is now with RCB, scoring 44 from 26 balls.

David became Goliath

After the departure of SKY and Green, the game seemed to be favoring  RR, but that's when Tim David stepped up. He played an unbeaten innings of 45 runs from just 14 balls, including a hat-trick of sixes in the last over bowled by Holder. MI clinched the game with 3 balls to spare.

However, despite MI's victory, it was Jaiswal who rightfully earned the player of the match award for his exceptional performance.
