When Steve Smith Played With Virat Kohli's Bat

Regarded as modern-day batting maestros, both Virat Kohli and Steve Smith share a great camaraderie off the field. 

While on the field, they face off against each other as fighters, Smith and Kohli have often been vocal about each other's batting and how they have impacted the game in their respective ways.

Dinesh Karthik, who plays with Virat Kohli at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), opened up about an interesting anecdote that featured the former India captain and Smith.

Karthik, who was in the UK for his commentary stint during the ICC World Test Championship Final between India and Australia, stated how he saw Smith batting with Kohli's bat.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Karthik revealed that Smith has been using Kohli's bat, and waited for the Indian great to gift him a new one for Ashes as well.

“I met Steve Smith during the WTC final & saw Virat Kohli written on his bat. Smith told me that he has been playing with Virat Kohli’s bat for some time now. Smith further said that for the Ashes he was waiting for Virat Kohli to send another bat,”

A forgetable Test for India and Kohli, Australia went on to win the coveted ICC mace beating Rohit Sharma and Co. by 209 runs. Smith slammed a marvellous 121 and 34 in the encounter, while Kohli managed 14 and 49, in his two outings.
