Indian captain, Rohit Sharma is known not only for his batting skills on the cricket field but also for his witty and often candid responses during press conferences.

As the cricketing community stands on the edge of yet another intense India-Pakistan face-off in Asia Cup 2023, memories from previous encounters float back. Notably, the banter-filled press conference after India’s World Cup 2019 clash against Pakistan where Rohit delivered a masterstroke of wit is once again doing the rounds on social media.

Rohit Sharma's reply left everyone in stitches

In the World Cup 2019 match, India had Pakistan on the ropes, emerging victorious by an impressive 89-run margin. Rohit was the hero of this win as he produced a sensational knock of 140 runs from just 113 deliveries, guiding India to a colossal 336/5.

In response, the Pakistani team showed early promise but was eventually thwarted by incisive bowling spells from Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya.

Following this emphatic victory, Rohit was present at the post-match press conference where he was approached by a reporter with an interesting question. The reporter asked, "What advice would you offer to the struggling Pakistani batsmen?"

The Mumbai-based cricketer, known for his quick wit cheekily responded, "I’ll tell them if I ever become the coach for Pakistan. What can I say right now?"

Meanwhile, with the India-Pakistan rivalry set to be reignited in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 match on September 2 in Pallekele, fans are eagerly awaiting another heroic performance from the Indian skipper.

Given Rohit’s track record and his memorable performance in Manchester, hopes are high that he will once again lead India to victory against their fiercest rivals.
