Virat Kohli has notched up three half-centuries this IPL 2023 season and is one of the contenders in the ‘Orange Cap’ race. One of the greatest batters of all time, the right-hander is already the highest run-getter in IPL cricket as well in international T20 matches.

Quite recently, the legend himself was asked to reveal his picks as the all-time greats from the ever-expanding IPL gallery. To answer the question, the batting veteran picked his former RCB teammate, along with an ex-Sri Lankan speedster and five-time IPL winner for Mumbai Indians.

Kohli was recently involved in an interactive Q&A session on Jio Cinema. When he was asked to reveal his picks for the greatest IPL players of all time, the legendary batter named two former cricketers, AB de Villiers and Lasith Malinga.

Both Kohli and AB de Villiers spent over a decade at the RCB camp, until the latter announced his retirement from the game. The two put up several batting exhibitions for their franchise, and are known for their on-field and off-field camaraderie.

Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga is one of the most successful players in the history of the league, having lifted the title five times for the Mumbai Indians. The Sri Lankan speed gun is also the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history, having snared 170 wickets in just 122 matches.

Kohli was also asked several other questions during the session. He termed CSK star Ambati Rayudu as IPL’s most underrated batter, and described Shane Watson as the greatest all-rounder to have played in the IPL.

Kohli also named MS Dhoni-led CSK as his favourite team to play against, citing the large fanbase of the ‘Yellow Brigade’.
