Rajasthan Royals (RR) head coach, Kumar Sangakkara was left speechless with the breath-taking knock of Sanju Samson against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday.

In a close-fought encounter, Rajasthan Royals finally managed to defeat Gujarat Titans by 3-wickets and took revenge of last year's IPL finale.

Chasing a tricky 178, RR lost the plot in the middle overs, losing 4 wickets for 55 runs. But Samson played a captain's knock and RR had a brilliant turnaround as they held their nerves to clinch the game.

The turning point was Samson's assault to Rashid Khan. Arguably one of the best spinners in T20 format, Samson struck three sixes to Rashid in the 13th over that changed the momentum for the league leaders.

After the match, Sangakkara lauded Samson's knock and praised him for taking on GT's best bowler. A video has been posted on the Rajasthan Royals social media handle, where the head coach could be seen praising the skipper.

“Skipper, you not just got us through the powerplay but that Rashid Khan over, and then you kicked on from there, that was the game changer. Their best bowler, some say the best T20 spinner in the world, was completely caught off-guard.

It just goes to show that when you’re in the game, anything is possible. Whether it’s Rashid Khan, Shane Warne, or Muralitharan. It doesn’t matter when we are in the game. We play the ball, not the man. Brilliantly done."

With this win, Rajasthan have strengthened their position at the top of the points table. Out of the five matches played, they have won 4.
