Dinesh Karthik expressed his gratefulness to Rohit Sharma for believing in his abilities and giving him support during tough times.

Karthik on Saturday took to Instagram and shared a long post while thanking Ricky Ponting for his kind words. The former Australian captain remarked Karthik as one of the best finishers in the T20 game at present and lauded the Indian keeper for making a national comeback at the age of 37.

It is evident that Karthik slammed 330 runs at a strike rate of 183.33 for RCB in IPL 2022, which helped him to be named in the T20I side.

The Tamil Nadu batter then credited former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar, for working with him on and off-field and helping him to recover from a bad phase.

In the end, the veteran batter penned a heartfelt message for skipper Rohit, who invigorated a burning desire under him to do well for the Men in Blue.

“For a man who went through all this, believed in me and always had time for me and showed me there is light at the end of the tunnel for that I'm ever grateful, that for me is @rohitsharma45."

Since making a comeback, Karthik has amassed 273 runs in 24 games at an average of 24.82 and a strike rate of 150.83.

He will certainly be a crucial cog to Team India in the T20 World Cup, and is expected to be preferred over Rishabh Pant in Playing XI.
