In what was a thrilling contest between Ireland and Scotland, Irish all-rounder Curtis Campher and George Dockrell participated in an exhilarating historical run-chase for Ireland.

This was Ireland's highest ever run-chase in the history of T20 World Cups.

Campher and Dockrell light up fireworks

After Scotland put up a 176 run target for Ireland, things looked a little rough for the Irish as they lost 4 wickets within the first 9 overs with only 61 runs up on the scoreboard. Campher came in at number 5 as the saviour of the Men in Green. Campher hit a brilliant 72 off 32 deliveries alongside George Dockrell 39(27) to complete Ireland's historical run-chase. He was also named the Player of the Match.

Campher overwhelmed with emotions

"Yes, I just heard of the bad news from family. So, I was emotional. It was difficult and then luckily it was our day. I think the way I and Dockrell approached the chase was terrific. It was a good pitch and glad we could do the job nicely. I think it's great the tournament is wide open and thank everyone out there back at home for their continuous support."

Ireland continues its run in the WC

Ireland is set to face two-time World Champion West Indies on the 21st of October for their final contest in the qualifiers. The team is hanging by a thread in the qualifiers.
