Out-of-favour opener Ahmed Shehzad has vowed to make a comeback for Pakistan. Touted as the next big thing in Pakistan cricket, Shehzad's fall from grace came early, following rifts with coaches and on-field controversies.

The 31-year-old speaking to Cricket Pakistan said that he is focused on being fitter and wants to play with pride.  Since 2009, the Lahore-born has represented 13 Tests, 81 ODIs, and 59 T20Is accumulating 5,058 runs altogether.

Here's what Shehzad said

“I am focused on myself, taking care of my fitness, health, and diet. My aim is to represent my country again with pride,"

Shehzad is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023 for Dhaka Dominators, having scored 23 runs in three matches.

Surprisingly, Shehzad remained unsold in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 Draft and was not included in the recently announced replacement draft as well.

Prior to the BPL, the explosive batter amassed 422 runs in the Pakistan Cup for Central Punjab, finishing the tournament as the seventh-highest run-getter.
