New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell has joined Worcestershire County Cricket Club (WCCC) for the upcoming edition of T20 Blast 2023. Bracewell made his international debut for the Black Caps across formats this year, impressing everyone with his outings against Netherlands, Ireland and England.

The hard-hitting all-rounder for Wellington came in with a reputation after finishing the Super Smash T20 2021-2022 competition as the leading run-getter with 478 runs at an average of 79.66.

The 31-year-old already has a One-Day International (ODI) hundred and a hat-trick in T20I; both coming against Ireland

Other Kiwi players like Martin Guptill, Mitchell Santner, and Ish Sodhi have featured for Worcestershire Rapids in earlier editions.

Speaking about his new association in a statement, Bracewell expressed his excitement.

β€œI’ve heard a lot of good things about Worcestershire from a lot of New Zealand players who have recently played there, and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to join up with the group next summer.”

Coach Alan Richardson also welcomed the explosive all-rounder into their system.

β€œIt’s always good to have someone of his calibre, but the fact he is a true all-rounder means we are really getting two players.

Since making his debut in March 2022, the all-rounder has played two Tests, 13 ODIs, and as many T20Is for New Zealand.
