Australian opener Marcus Stoinis in the press conference, thanked his IPL stint for helping him learn to bat well against spin. His innings of 59* runs in the T20 World Cup match against Sri Lanka changed the course of the match and most of the runs were hammered to the spinners.

In the process, he scored the fastest fifty by an Australian in T20I cricket consuming just 17 deliveries. His onslaught totally changed the course of the game for the Aussies as they stormed home in just 16.3 overs that too when they were struggling to score runs at one stage.

Stoinis mentioned that IPL has been a major factor in his life as spending time on not just wickets but different setups has helped him evolve a lot in the past few years.

"Yeah, definitely the IPL has changed my cricket and helped me evolve,"

"And it's not only playing on the wickets, it's having the coaches from all over the world, having players from different countries. I've played for quite a few years in the IPL and quite a few teams, so you come across a range of techniques and mentalities about how to play spin. Yeah, it has helped me improve for sure."

Stoinis will next be seen in action for Australia in the game against England on 28 October.
