Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal flattened the CSK attack with a career-best 77. The innings marked his sixth IPL half-century and seventh overall in T20 cricket.

The youngster launched an all-out assault from the outset and his innings charged up the Royals total past the 200-run mark in Jaipur.

The total proved enough for Sanju Samson and co. as the ‘Yellow Brigade’ fell 32 runs short of their target in the run-chase.

Jaiswal was fittingly adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for his match-winning effort. After the contest, he described his pre-inning mindset and how keeping in contact with some senior members has helped his batting cause.

Jaiswal says he enjoys batting under pressure

During the presentation ceremony, Yashasvi Jaiswal said that he has been putting in the efforts with the Rajasthan Royals team management. He also claimed that he is constantly in touch with legendary Indian batters like Virat Kohli and CSK captain MS Dhoni.

“It is not about just this season, I have been putting in the effort with the team management and I keep speaking to senior players like Dhoni sir and Virat bhai.”

The 21-year-old added that he enjoys batting under pressure and he was only thinking about maintaining a higher strike-rate during his innings against the CSK.

“I enjoy pressure and want to be there when there is pressure. I was only thinking of keeping my strike rate high and I knew we need 200 to defend on this surface.”

Jaiswal is now expected to reprise his role for the Rajasthan Royals in their upcoming away fixture against the Mumbai Indians. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on April 30.
