One of the greats from Australia, Mr Cricket Michael Hussey, joined England as an assistant coach ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. His expertise Down Under will be crucial for the visitors, who are coming off a 2-0 series win against their age-old rivals just before the mega-event.

While Hussey was the mainstay for Australia, his loyalty was under question when he signed with the Three Lions. However, during a discussion with SEN, the left-hander cleared himself of all the rumours going around. He mentioned the fact that there's a bigger picture that is more relevant than this friction. He said,

"There's a bigger picture, I guess, than just the Australia versus England rivalry and the loyalty to Australia,"

He added that getting the chance to learn from a new viewpoint is a massive occasion for him. His outlook is that knowing how another setup works will be handy.

"A lot of thought goes into it for sure, but it's also a great opportunity to be around a new environment to see how another country goes about it, so certainly, from a coaching perspective, it helps me grow and learn a lot more,"

Furthermore, he stated that he will always remain a proud Aussie, no matter what.

"I'm always going to be a very proud Australian, but it's a great opportunity that I'm really enjoying."

England will begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on the 22nd of October at the Perth Stadium.
