Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian spinner, praised Yuzvendra Chahal for his excellent performance in match 57 of the Indian Premier League 2023 between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders held at the Eden Gardens. Chahal became the leading wicket-taker in IPL history after taking four wickets in the match. The Turbanator commended Chahal by stating that his name is as significant as that of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav.

Yuzvendra Chahal's four wickets brought his total wicket count to 187, which is four more than Dwayne Bravo. He has also become the leading wicket-taker in the tournament and claimed the Purple Cap with 21 wickets in 12 matches, surpassing GT's Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan.

In a post-match interview with StarSports, Singh spoke highly about the Rajasthan Royals bowler. Here's what he said:

"If you compare his stature with any IPL batter, it will be higher than theirs. We forget bowlers at times because we give more importance to batters. He is as big a name as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav if we see his performances."

He also laid emphasis on how the times have changed and how far Yuzi has come in terms of his skilful bowling abilities. Chahal rose to prominence after he was signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014, and he has been consistently performing well ever since.

"Unfortunately, bowlers are not given that importance in our place but I am so glad to see his progress. When he was young, I remember the time when he came to the Mumbai Indians camp. He was very skillful at that time as well."

The commentator also expressed his belief that it would be a challenging feat for any other bowler to exceed Yuzvendra Chahal's total number of IPL wickets and added:

"He bowled the 19th over and didn't allow Rinku Singh, a batter who has proved his might in this IPL, to move. He is still very young and will play for many years. It will take someone a long time to break the record he will set."

Yuzvendra Chahal, Rajasthan Royals' pink feathered hero would look to reclaim a consecutive purple cap record in this season of IPL too.
