Former England pacer Steve Harmison has made a bold prediction about one of the tournament's newest recruits. Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) latest addition, Harry Brook, has caught Harmison's eye and he has backed the young batter to win the coveted ‘Player of the Tournament’ award in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023).

The England veteran's endorsement of Brook, who was bought by the SRH for a colossal INR 13.25 crore, comes after the 24-year-old's impressive performances for his country in all formats of the game.

"I think he might start with an orange cap as well. I think Harry Brooke is going to be the best player. I think he could get Player of the Tournament," said Harmison in an interview with GiveMeSport.

Harmison went on to praise Brook's recent form and his potential to continue improving. He further commented that when a player is in good form, things tend to fall into place, and he believes this is the case for Brook.

The former cricketer’s prediction is sure to raise the excitement levels around Brook's IPL debut, particularly among Sunrisers fans. The franchise, which won the tournament in 2016, has made some significant signings ahead of the new season, and the young England star's inclusion is expected to add further firepower to their batting line-up.

Under the new captain Aiden Markram, the Sunrisers start their upcoming campaign on Sunday, April 2 against Rajasthan Royals at home.
