Chris Wood extends contract with Hampshire till 2023

Hampshire's legendary pacer Chris Wood has been signed in for another year by the club which will be effective till the end of 2023. After having forgone his red ball contract to focus on white ball cricket, the left-armer has snapped 171 wickets in T20 cricket since 2010 and is the highest on the list of wicket-takers for the club.

Overall, playing 280 games for the club, he has grabbed 382 wickets helping them lift three T20 Blast and two 50-over championships.

What Chris Wood said after signing his new contract

"I've been with the club a while now and I'm fortunate enough to have won a few trophies during that time,

"I've always loved playing for Hampshire, and at the Ageas Bowl, and I'm keen to finish my career here and look forward to pushing for more silverware in that time."

Further, Hampshire's director of cricket, Giles White communicated his pleasure over retaining the veteran seamer for another season.

"Chris has the experience of eight different Finals Days and has been an integral part of the success of our T20 teams over the years."

Wood was also a part of London Spirits in the first two seasons of the Hundred.
