In an exclusive interview with OneCricket, Abhimanyu Easwaran, the proficient right-handed opening batsman and skipper of Bengal in domestic cricket, shared his inspiring cricketing journey. Easwaran's first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy against UP dates back to 2013, marking the beginning of his promising career.

Easwaran's T20 debut for Bengal came in the 2016-17 Inter State Twenty-20 Tournament. Furthermore, in 2018-19 season, Easwaran stood out as the leading run-scorer for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, amassing an impressive tally of 861 runs in six matches.

It is worth noting that the Bengal batter was named in the squad among five standby players in India's Test series against England in 2021. Moreover, the 27-year-old also toured with the national team during the series against Bangladesh last year, and has been a prolific run-getter for both Bengal and India A.

Easwaran, known for his dedication to fitness, emphasized its pivotal role in the sport, especially considering the packed schedule of games. Recognizing the importance of staying fit to meet the demands of modern cricket, he considers fitness to be an important aspect of the game.

Among the highlights of the interview, Easwaran shared his thoughts on his inspiration, Virat Kohli. He praised the legend for being the biggest fitness icon, citing his remarkable journey with the team India and the tremendous transformation in his fitness and cricketing prowess.

Here's What Easwaran Told OneCricket

"He (Virat Kohli) is the biggest example. Because we've seen his journey when he came to the Indian team. And the change he's brought in his fitness. And how he's improved his game. I think he was a really good batter when he came into the Indian side. But over the years, with his fitness, he's grown into the world's best batter."

"So I think that is something very inspiring. And I've seen him work hard in JN World. Do a running session on the ground. And that really inspired me. Because if that has made a big difference in his game, that would surely make a big difference in every cricketer's game. Because fitness is obviously a big part of the sport. And now, with the number of games we play, it is really important to stay fit. So I think, yeah. I think he's been my inspiration with fitness."

In 88 first-class matches, Easwaran has amassed 6567 runs, at an average of 47.24, including 22 centuries.

It's only a part of the conversation, the full interview will be out soon.
