In an encouraging news for cricket fans across the United States, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially sanctioned USA Cricket-run Major League Cricket (MLC), scheduled to start in July this year. This means that both MLC and Minor League Cricket (MiLC) can proceed as per plans without any dispute.

Earlier, it was reported that problems between the organisers and USA Cricket could delay the start of the tournament. With USA Cricket's approval, ICC members now can issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to their respective players to participate in the T20 league.

Here's what USA Cricket said

"Over the past few months, we have worked diligently with Ace [American Cricket Enterprises, the parent body of MLC and MILC] to ensure that the MLC and MiLC are positioned well to support the growth of cricket in the United States."

The six-team competition will see as many as four Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners administering franchises — Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians own teams based out of Los Angeles, Texas, Seattle, and New York, respectively.

The first-ever MLC Draft took place last month, with several high-profile players going under the hammer.
