Three Indians included in ICC Women's ODI team of the year 2022

After Men's ICC ODI team, the world body has announced the Women's ODI team of the year 2022 with eleven of the best players who performed well for their side. The team also includes three Indians among eight players from different countries. Let's have a look at them:

  5. Beth Mooney
  6. Harmanpreet Kaur
  7. Amelia Kerr
  8. Sophie Ecclestone
  9. Ayabonga Khaka

  11. Shabnim Ismail

Australia's dynamic opener Alyssa Healy has sealed the top spot with her incredible batting during the Women's ODI World Cup smashing 509 runs with two centuries in semi-final and final. India's Smriti Mandhana had a decent year with bat where she displayed consistency especially against England.

Laura Wolvaardt from South Africa was outstanding where she along with other two Ayabonga Khaka and Shabnim Ismail for the African Nation displayed their class throughout the year.

England's Nat Sciver had terrific 2022 as she amassed 833 ODI runs along with grabbing 12 wickets. Also, she thumped 436 runs during the World Cup with two centuries whereas one of them came against in spirited effort in the finals against Australia.

403 runs at a strike rate of around 96 in just 10 innings, Australia's Beth Mooney was at usual at her best even in the limited chances she got. Her credentials have been quite magnificent in every format of the game.

Hard-hitting Indian batter Harmanpreet Kaur has been given the responsibility to lead the side given that she did that brilliantly for the Women in Blue. Further, she batting prowess can't be neglected.

Amelia Kerr's expertise with both bat and ball has been boon for the White Ferns as she recorded 676 runs while scalping 17 wickets over the entire year. 

Turning out to be one of the best, English spinner Sophie Ecclestone wrecked havoc with 22 wickets just in the World Cup helping her in a great cause.

Also, making the list is India's Renuka Singh who made her debut in the year while ending it with 18 wickets from just seven matches.
