In a recent revelation, David Warner has insisted that Cricket Australia's (CA) decision to only offer a six-month contract to Justin Langer was a 'kick in his face,' while he also admitted that the former coach lost a number of supporters in the dressing room.

The buildup and fallout of Langer with the Aussie side has been a controversial topic for nearly a year now.

Langer's departure came at the end of last summer when CA took on board concern regarding the coach's intensity at the end of his initial four-year deal.

Ever since his departure, Langer has publically spoken about his disappointment with Cricket Australia and has made clear his frustrations regarding the situation.

Warner's comments came after former skipper, Tim Paine also labelled CA's new contract to Langer as a 'disgrace' and 'unprofessional', claiming that the board took the easy way out.

Warner speaks

"He wanted to keep coaching, it was a bit of kick in the face to offer him a six month contract."

Warner added: "He lost a fair few players, and probably the wrong players."

While players like Usman Khawaja and Nathan Lyon have admitted to struggle with Langer's up and down nature, players do believe that the 52-year-old has had a signficant hand in the Aussie buildup after the ball-tampering scandal in 2018.
