In a significant turn of events, Peshawar Zalmi owner, Javed Afridi has decided not to attend the PSL 8 Draft today and will go on a silent protest.

The protest is in view of the latest statements given by the PCB Chairman, Ramiz Raja and CEO Faisal Hasnain regarding activities in Peshawar.

Last week, both Raja and Hasnain stated that foreign teams and players are not allowed to travel to Peshawar for PSL and international matches.

According to the Zalmi sources, this has sent a negative image about Peshawar and their bid to revive cricket in the city.

Almost 4 billion has been spent to develop the state of art stadiums in Peshawar but the latest statement can have a negative impact on the development on these new stadiums in Peshawar.

Zalmi officials have not said anything on this matter. Afridi remains firm on his decision of not attending the Draft.

However, it is widely reported that Zalmi Director, Mohammad Akram will attend the event.
