In the second T20I of the India tour to New Zealand Suryakumar Yadav smashed a brilliant unbeaten century where he scored 111 runs off of 51 balls at the strike rate of 217.65. New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Openers Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant were dismissed cheaply, but Suryakumar came in at number 3 and turned the match around. Surya's single-handed efforts ensured a 191 run total for India.

Alongside the swashbuckling SKY, Ishan Kishan scored 36 runs, while Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya both scored 13 runs each.

Surya delighted with a century

"Of course, a hundred in T20I cricket is always special. I was well supported by Hardik Pandya there. He said to play till the 18th over. It was about batting through and taking the game deep, with Washy and Deepak coming into bat. We batted the same way. If we can defend this and win this, then it is a really special one for me."

"I'm enjoying batting this way, I've been doing the same thing in the nets, all practice sessions and going out [to the middle], all these things happening, I'm very happy with that."
