He's absolutely incredible: Glenn Phillips heaps praise on Suryakumar Yadav

2022 has been an incredible year for Suryakumar Yadav. SKY has amassed more than 1000 T20I runs this year and it has witnessed him reach the top of the ICC T20I batters Rankings.

Now New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips has come out and praised Suryakumar for his shot-making. Phillips stated that he wouldn't even try and do things which Surya does on a regular basis.

"He's absolutely incredible. The things which he does, I wouldn't even dream of doing. I would love to try, but we have different games. The wrists strength that he has got, to be able to hit balls for six in extremely awkward areas is a talent you rarely see," Phillips told to stuff.co.nz.

Both the batters were supposed to take the field against each other in the first T20I between India and New Zealand on Friday, but rain played the spoilsport.

Phillips has also predicted that Suryakumar's strike-rate would be higher in New Zealand because of the smaller ground dimensions.

"I could easily see his strike-rate being higher here than in Australia. With slightly smaller grounds and the pitches very similar, with a it more grass and bounce, it's going to be interesting to see what sort of strike-rates we see here."
