During the T20 World Cup 2022 final between Pakistan and England, Shaheen Shah Afridi was visibly grimacing in pain as he awkwardly caught a ball at the boundary and took a fall. The dive catalysed Afridi's existing knee injury.

Afridi tried to complete his quota in the death overs but went off the field after bowling just one delivery.

PCB Medical staff updates on Afridi's injury

The Pakistan Cricket Board had sent the bowler for a scan on Monday, they then confirmed that he had no signs of injury and that the discomfort during the game might have been caused by a knee flexion.

The medical staff has advised a two-week rehabilitation.

The pace bowler had injured the same knee in July in Sri Lanka and was ruled out of the entirety of Asia Cup 2022 due to the injury. He made a comeback in the squad for a series against England at home before the T20 World Cup 2022.

Pakistan are all set to tour New Zealand in December for a two-test and three ODI series.
