Posting 168 on the board against England in the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, India were expecting to halt their counterparts for a lower total. However, things didn't went according to plan and they got thrashed by 10 wickets, resulting in a humiliating exit.

Like everyone former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar is very much disappointed with the result and effort that they put in. He considered this total below par which couldn't have been defended easily.

The former Indian opener said it was disheartening to see his side lose but this one-off performance is no measure to judge a side that has been playing well in recent times. Also, to claim number one spot in the world is by no means an easy task and of course, doesn't happen overnight.

"I know the semi-final was really, really disappointing against England. I'm of the same vote. We are all the well-wishers of Indian cricket,

"But also let us not judge our team only by this performance, because we have been world No. 1 T20 side as well. To get to that number one spot, it does not happen overnight. You have to play good cricket over a period of time. That's what the team has done,"

He was critical of side's performance too mentioning that they were not upto the mark in both the departments.

"To me that's not a competitive total. So, let's accept that we did not put up a good score, and so was the case with our bowling when it came to picking wickets we were unsuccessful."

India's next assignment will be against New Zealand that will begin on 18th November.
