Kevin Pietersen reveals the only way Pakistan can beat England

Former England star Kevin Pietersen believes that the only be Pakistan can win the T20 World Cup 2022 final is if the Three Lions self destruct.

England were unplayable in the semifinals against India and they picked up at 10-wicket victory to secure their place in the marquee clash against Pakistan.

Pietersen had previously predicted England to dominate India and win the semifinals. The former England batter believes that the Three Lions are favourites to lift the trophy on Sunday, and it will be interesting to see if the English players can step up and deliver on the biggest of stages.

The Three Lions certainly cannot afford to underestimate Pakistan who have done well to bounce back from adversity and book their place in the finals of the competition. The Men in Green have an exceptional bowling unit and they will fancy their chances of beating any side on their day.

Star bowler Shaheen Afridi is back in form and the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan looked in great touch against New Zealand in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales destroyed the Indian bowling attack in the semifinals, and it could be a case of an unstoppable force against an immovable object at the MCG on Sunday. 

"Pakistan need to hope that England self-destruct by being reckless and overconfident. I think it's an incredible strength that they can just go out there and play the way that they do, but we do know there's one thing that can happen to this England team – they can get rolled over for none, because it's a sixathon.

"That's the only thing that I can see derailing England, and that's what Pakistan need to hope for, because I don't think they can derail England themselves."

Following England's semifinal win over India, Pietersen said: 

"Pakistan will be petrified. They will be absolutely bricking it, purely based on what England just delivered."
