Former Pakistan star Wasim Akram has urged Babar Azam to take the example of Virat Kohli and bounce back from his lean patch.

The Pakistan captain has not been at this best in the T20 World Cup 2022 so far and the Men in Green will need him in top form if they are to reach the semi-finals and win the tournament eventually.

Babar Azam is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and he is a bonafide matchwinner. Pakistan have missed his quality in the showpiece event in Australia so far.

Akram cited the example of Kohli stating that the former Indian skipper was going through a lean patch and he bounced back into form during the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022.

The Pakistan legend believes that Babar Azam needs one good innings to restore his confidence and get back to his best.

As quoted by LiveMint, Akram said: “Probably he put pressure on himself because obviously for the standards he has already set for himself after scoring so many runs in the last 3-4 years across formats. As a sportsman, you do compete with yourself."

Kohli has been in impeccable form since his century in the Asia Cup and he will be hoping to guide the Men in Blue to World Cup glory this year. He played an exceptional knock against Pakistan last month in the World Cup.
