In a stirring contest against Bangladesh, India ended the game with a 5-run victory. Thanks to a magnificent effort from KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and the bowlers, the Indian side have almost made it to the semi-finals.

In the post-match presentation, skipper Rohit Sharma was all praise for his side especially young Arshdeep Singh who bowled brilliantly at the death. He said that due to non-availability of Jasprit Bumrah, someone had to step up and it was Arshdeep who grabbed the opportunity.

Further, he also explained the situation during the match, mentioning that he was both 'calm' and 'nervous' during the intense moment. His interpretation was that the match could have ended in anyone's favour but they did well to pull it back.

"Bit of both. I was calm and nervous at the same time. It was important for us as a group to stay calm and execute our plans. With 10 wickets in hand it could've gone either way but after the break we did well.

"When he came into the scene [on Arshdeep], we asked him to do that for us. With Bumrah not there, someone has to do it for us, and take the responsibility, for such a young guy to come and do it is not easy. But we prepared him for it. The last 9 months he has been doing it. There was a choice between Shami and him but we backed someone who did the job for us previously. "

India will next face Zimbabwe on the 6th of November at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
