In a remarkable turn of events, Virat Kohli has overtook legendary Sachin Tendulkar to become the highest-scoring Indian on Australian soil. The talismanic India batter achieved this phenomenal feat during India's fourth Super 12 encounter against Bangladesh in Adelaide on Wednesday.

Hailed as the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar has amassed 3300 international runs at a healthy average of 42.85 in Australia. On the other hand, Kohli had 3286 runs to his name and hence needed 15 more runs to surpass Tendulkar's tally. He passed the test with flying colours, hammering a splendid 44-ball 64*, that propelled India to a winning total of 184 runs.

Kohli has always been successful with the bat in Australia. The batting maestro has particularly enjoyed batting in Adelaide, scoring 907 runs across formats.

Regarding the match, India sealed a narrow five-run win, courtesy of a fine bowling exhibition from their fast bowlers, especially Arshdeep Singh. Although Litton Das stunned them through his breathtaking fifty, the Men in Blue struck back in time to dent Bangladesh's chances and eventually grab crucial two points.

With their one foot in the semis, Rohit Sharma and co will meet Zimbabwe in their final Super 12 fixture in Melbourne on Sunday.
