In a riveting encounter, India got the better of Pakistan by four wickets, giving their T20 World Cup campaign a high-flying start.

Although the target of 160 runs seemed like a mammoth task, Virat Kohli unleashed his superpowers as his unbeaten 82-run knock left Pakistan battered and bruised.

India tottered in the earlier half of their innings, reeling at 31/4. However, Kohli, along with Hardik Pandya, stitched a colossal 113-run stand. While Pandya fell in the last over, India's run machine came out undefeated, scripting another match-winning masterclass.

I am really lost for words: Kohli

Reflecting on his innings after the finish of the high-octane clash, Kohli was visibly over the moon. He even gave a peek into his game plan, mentioning how he backed his instincts to win it for India.

"I have no words, no idea how that happened. I am really lost for words. Hardik believed we can do it, if we stayed till the end. When Shaheen bowled from the pavilion end, that's when we decided to take him down. Haris is their prime bowler, and I hit those two sixes,

"The calculation was simple. Nawaz had one over to bowl, so if I could take Haris down, they would panic. From 28 in 8, it came down to 16 to 6. I tried to stick to my instincts. The first one was back of a hand slower ball (the one over long-on). Standing here I just feel like it was meant to be."

The 33-year-old also termed today's knock better than the one he played against Australia in Mohali in the 2016 World Cup.

"Till today Mohali was my best innings against Australia. Today I will count this one higher. Hardik kept pushing me. The crowd has been phenomenal. You guys (fans) kept backing me and I am grateful for your support."

With a win under their tally, Rohit Sharma and Co. will head to Sydney for their upcoming fixture, scheduled against the Netherlands on October 27.
