Indian maverick Virat Kohli has now reflected on his second fiddle-role in the batting lineup when he is batting alongside the explosive Suryakumar Yadav.

The 32-year-old has been entrusted with the role of the aggressor while batting alongside Kohli and he has carried out his duties to perfection in recent months.

Suryakumar Yadav, fondly referred to as SKY has been a key player for India in the shortest format of the game over the past year and he will be crucial to India's hopes of winning the T20 World Cup 2022.

Kohli revealed that the explosive middle-order batter has a no-nonsense approach to his batting and he loves taking on opposition bowlers right from the start and the Indian veteran is happy to hold the innings together at the other hand and calm things down with a more measured approach.

Kohli said as quoted by India Today:

"It's a great space to be while batting out there in the middle with SKY.

"He has a lot of fun in the middle because of his skills and ability. He just asks how the ball is coming from the wicket and then, within 2-3 balls, he gauges the wicket and then gets going. During our partnerships, he says that he will take his chances and just wants me to be there with him. So, I play a different role when I'm out there with him, which I am enjoying because it works beautifully well for the team."

Kohli has had a timely return to form prior to the World Cup and the Indian fans will be hoping that he can help the Men in Blue go all the way in the showpiece event this year.

His ability to complement his teammates and switch between gears could prove to be invaluable for the Indian team in the World Cup.
