Liam Livingstone was ruled out of England’s ongoing T20I series in Pakistan. The cricketer had sustained an ankle injury during the Hundred and has been at Old Trafford since last week as part of his rehabilitation.

While Livingstone is part of the England squad for next month’s T20I World Cup, he is set to be “undercooked” for the tournament owing to his injury, according to senior teammate Moeen Ali.

Moeen believes a break might be good for Livingstone

England’s interim skipper Moeen Ali recently gave some updates regarding Livingstone’s availability for the T20I World Cup. The dynamic all-rounder, currently in Pakistan, has said that he has been in touch with the Birmingham Phoenix star.

Ali also stated that the cricketer is likely to be fit in time for England’s warm-up games before the showpiece event and might even turn up for the last fixture prior to the World Cup.

When asked about Livingstone’s path to recovery, the senior cricketer said:

“I know he's speaking to Jos and I actually messaged him a couple of days ago to see how he was going. He said it's getting there and he's on the mend. Hopefully, in Australia, he'll probably play the last warm-up game or something like that.”

“We're hoping that he's ready. He might be a little bit undercooked but he'll pick it up quickly and it's actually not been a bad thing for him to have a bit of a break from cricket.”
