IND vs AUS: Jasprit Bumrah adds edge to India's bowling, says Sanjay Bangar

From knocking over the opposition in the past few years, India's bowling attack has struggled to grab wickets in their recent outings. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Harshal Patel were hammered in the first T20I on Tuesday against Australia, which saw the visitors chase down a mammoth 209 runs rather comfortably.

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian attack has looked lacklustre in the death overs. However, former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar believes that the 28-year-old's inclusion in the playing XI will reinforce the hosts' line-up.

"He brings a different edge to the bowling unit altogether. He is at the peak of his career, the peak of his prowess. His ability to execute yorkers, there were bowlers on both sides who tried to do that tonight, but they were not able to do it consistently.

That is what Bumrah does consistently, his ability to pick wickets through the middle overs and also test the batters with his yorkers and bouncers in the end overs," - Bangar told Star Sports.

Bumrah, who is making a comeback from injury, did not feature in the first match of the three-T20I series and is likely to replace Umesh Yadav in the Nagpur T20I on Friday.

So far in 2022, the Mumbai Indians' bowler has played just three T20Is, picking as many wickets.
