Glamorgan County Cricket Club (GCCC) skipper David Lloyd notched up his career-best score in County cricket during his knock of 203* against Derbyshire in Championship Division Two.

Day one witnessed Lloyd record his fifth First-Class hundred while taking his County club to a position of strength, ending the day at 380 for 3. In the ongoing season, Lloyd has scored 733* runs from 13 games, including this century and four fifties.

Coach Matt Maynard lauded Lloyd's effort and felt delighted for the 30-year-old all-rounder.

"To see Lloydy play with great intent, his array of shots, it's brilliant and he's as good as anyone when he plays like that. It's his first 'daddy century', it shows he's still learning about his game.

It's fantastic and I'm so delighted for him because he puts so much hard work in, in the nets. Hopefully this will give him a lot of belief to take his game to the level we all think it can be."

Lloyd made his FC debut in 2012 and registered 6,472 runs with five tons and 20 fifties and 91 wickets. He also has featured in 51 List-A and 79 T20 matches.

The County is placed third in the County Championship Division Two points table with five wins, two losses, and five draws.
