Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has had ups and downs in his international career. The 34-year-old is approaching the twilight of his career, but still has a dream of representing his nation at the T20 World Cup 2022.

He performed exceedingly well in the recently concluded Royal London ODI Cup, but his campaign was cut short due to an injury in his quad muscles.

During his stint with Middlesex, OneCricket correspondent, Vimal Kumar had an interaction with Umesh wherein the pacer talks about his desire to play the T20 World Cup.

"Everyone has a dream to represent their country, and if I get a chance, I am ready for it. Previously I have performed well in Australia, and if given the opportunity, I'll grab it with both hands.

Would like to do well for my country so that everyone remembers me. Everyone has a dream of playing in the World Cup, so yes, I hope I achieve it, " says Umesh.

After almost three years away from the shortest format, Umesh was recalled into the side after Mohammed Shami tested positive for Covid-19. The Nagpur born pacer had a really good IPL, where he picked up 16 wickets in 12 matches.
