Hayley Matthews has enunciated her likeness towards the Rajasthan Royals franchise, due to their support for Women's cricket.

Currently, Matthews is plying her trade for Barbados Royals in the WCPL, which is owned by the Royals franchise. Last week, under her leadership, the team lifted the title of the inaugural season of the 6ixty

The 24-year-old will be one of the marquee players for the Women's IPL, which is slated to take place in March 2023.

Matthews thinks the Manoj Badale-owned franchise has an investment in the right places, which the game needs at this moment.

"For sure, I would love to play for the Royals. I've experienced an amazing atmosphere with the working group present at the franchise, and they are always very supportive of the girls," said Matthews.

"Their investment in women's cricket is appreciable, and I think such investments being made in the right places is what our game needs. "

Matthews hopes to don pink in Women's IPL

The Caribbean all-rounder has revealed her favouritism is due to the Barbados players, Jofra Archer, Oshane Thomas and Obed McCoy already having featured for the Royals in the IPL.

Further, Matthews aspires to don the pink jersey at the Women's IPL next year.

In the Women's T20 Challenge played in India earlier this year, Matthews played for Trailblazers and contributed 45 runs and four wickets in two games.
