Mohammed Siraj hails KL Rahul following India’s win against Zimbabwe

Right-arm seamer Mohammed Siraj is having the time of his life in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. The pacer looked extremely good in the second One Day International as he dismissed Takudzwanashe Kaitano by maintaining an excellent economy rate of two.

Siraj believes that the stand-in skipper KL Rahul has a huge part to play in India’s good performance against Zimbabwe. The 28-year-old credited the skipper for maintaining a good environment in the dressing room and allowing the bowlers to play their natural game.

Notably, the Men in Blue have clinched the three-match series by 2-0 as they won the first ODI by ten wickets and followed it up with another five-wicket win.

“First of all, thank you so much, we have won the series. The atmosphere is extremely good. KL Bhai (Rahul) gives a lot of freedom to the bowlers, so the atmosphere is very good," Siraj mentioned while speaking on Sony Sports.

The bowler also reflected on the changes he has made in his game to upskill himself in white-ball cricket. Siraj is doing extremely well in the One Day Internationals. In ten ODI matches, he has picked 13 wickets. What makes the seamer stand out is his stunning economy rate of 4.80.

Siraj in contention for the 2023 ODI World Cup

With his performances, the 28-year-old has filed a strong case to be in the scheme of things for the ODI World Cup 2023. Speaking about his strategy, Siraj admitted that now he just focuses on his seam and does not complicate things
