India has taken an unassailable lead over West Indies in the T20i series with a convincing win of 59 runs in the 4th match.

Batting first in the match India posted a total of 191 runs on the board in their 20 overs. The Indian bowlers responded to the challenge of defending the total by dismissing the opposition for 132 runs.

Although all the bowlers contributed equally, the star of the India bowling effort was Avesh Khan. His figures read 2 for 17 in his 4 overs. But it does not reveal the fact that he gave India the breakthroughs at a time when the West Indian batters were beginning to look dangerous and taking the attack to the opposition.

This is the same Avesh Khan who was finding it difficult to find his rhythm in the last two matches and was being smashed for runs to all parts of the park. But Rohit Sharma decided to back the youngster even after his disastrous last over in the second T20I.

Avesh certainly made a strong comeback in this match and repaid the faith his skipper had shown in him. Let us compare his figures in the three matches that he has played so far in the series.

So, we see that there is a significant improvement in Avesh Khan’s figure in the 4th T20I.

Bowling according to conditions

After being hit in the first two matches, Avesh knew very well that the Windies batters will look to go after him in this match also. But Avesh came into this match with a proper plan and more importantly executed his plans better. Let us have a look at the changes (if at all) Avesh made in his lines, lengths, and variations for the match.

This image goes a long way in revealing that a slight change in the length and adapting better to the conditions can go a long way in improving your performance. On deeper analysis, it can be seen that Avesh did not try too much of extra variations in the latest outing. Just adapting his length with the condition worked wonders for him.

Also, the fact that his skipper stood by him in the tough times gave him a big confidence boost. From the time Avesh took the field his body language looked different and the biggest bonus was him finding his rhythm early.

In conclusion, it is a great sight to see an Indian young pacer leaving his mark and conducting himself in the best way possible.
