After being picked up for a whopping price of INR 14 crore in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Chahar had to miss the entirety of the IPL.

Chahar, then, visited National Cricket Academy, but there too he caught an injury due to which the swing bowler was forced to miss the home series against Sri Lanka and the tour to Ireland, England, and the West Indies.

Chahar will be looking to re-claim his spot in the team

The 29-year-old Rajasthan-based cricketer, who has been training at the CSK academy after recovery confirmed in an interview that he has fully recovered from his injury.

“I have recovered well. I am playing practice matches now. If I wanted, I could have made a comeback 2-3 weeks ago only, stated Chahar.

"I could have played the T20 series against West Indies. But then, my thought process was that whenever you play, you give your 110 percent. Not even play at 99 percent. I believe I should be able to perform better than the time before I got injured."

Chahar has been selected for the tour of Zimbabwe and he will be looking forward to impressing in the Indian colours in attempt to put his name back in contention for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
