The Hundred 2022: Three Southern Brave players to watch out for


It's time for the most exciting tournament of the English summer. Yes, you guys guessed it right. We are just a few hours away from The Hundred, which turned out to be a grand success in its inaugural season last year. 


The defending champions Southern Brave will take on Welsh Fire in the opening match of the tournament. Captained by James Vince, Southern Brave are studded with some really impactful players. Before their clash with the Welsh Fire, let's see who could make an impact for the Brave in the match. 


James Vince 

Regarded as one of England's finest batting talents, James Vince topped the run-getters' list in the recently concluded T20 Blast, with 678 runs at a magnificent average of 48.42 and an impressive strike rate of 146.12.

The Southern Brave skipper performed decently in the Hundred last year, scoring 229 runs in nine outings. Considering his experience and red hot form, Vince is the first name you should keep your eyes on in this match. 


Tim David

The way Tim David has established himself as a top-tier finisher in such a short time is commendable. The muscular Singapore-born is gifted with incredible hitting abilities against both spin and pace.

David grabbed many eyeballs by performing admirably in PSL 2021-22 and the subsequent IPL 2022. Further, he slammed 405 runs at an insane strike rate of 174.56 in the Vitality Blast this year. He had a BPB (Balls per Boundary) value of 4.37 in England's premier T20 competition, which speaks volumes for his outstanding hitting prowess. 


Jake Lintott

Lintott was Southern Brave's most successful bowler last season, with 11 wickets at a terrific strike rate of 15. Also, he recorded a phenomenal economy of 6.33, thereby playing a key role in his team's victorious campaign.
