ACC President Jay Shah announces Asia Cup 2022 schedule

The Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah announced the schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, which will take place in the UAE.

The matches will be held across two venues - Dubai and Sharjah.

This edition of the Asia Cup will be played in a 20-over format, keeping in mind the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup in October.

Teams are divided into groups, A and B. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, and Qualifier, while Group B has Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

The sixth team will be the winner of the tournament between UAE, Kuwait, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

The competition will proceed in two parts: Group Stage and Super 4. The top two teams from each group will move ahead to the Super 4.

All matches will begin at 7.30 pm IST.

The last edition of the Asia Cup in 2018 was hosted by UAE, with India claiming the title under Rohit Sharma's captaincy in Virat Kohli's unavailability.
