In an upset, Pakistan flattened India as the former gained a 13-run victory in the 13th match of the Women's Asia Cup 2022, riding on the performances of Nida Dar, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal.

India's lacklustre batting show

Set on the chase of 138 runs, India were completely blown away by the opening spells of Sandhu and Dar as the duo's tight lines reaped rewards in the form of wickets.

After India's top-order got reduced to dust, Iqbal came in to bag the wickets of Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh with Pakistan now starting to threaten Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. of a win.

Kaur's demotion in the batting order also brought no positive results as she too was outdone by Dar. Ghosh smacked a few lusty blows as India out of nowhere made a comeback of sorts. However, her dismissal meant game over for the side as Pakistan won by 13 runs, bowling India out for 124.

Dar's blitzkrieg

Opting to bat first, Pakistan too were left with a daunting task after suffering an early collapse, losing their three wickets in the powerplay.

However, a 76-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Bismah Maroof and Dar brought them back into the match. Although the innings lacked the required finish, Dar's 37-ball 56 ensured that the women in green reached a match-winning total of 137 runs.

Brief scores:

Pakistan Women - 137/6 (20)

Nida Dar 56* (37), Bismah Maroof 32 (35);

Deepti Sharma 3-27 (4), Pooja Vastrakar 2-23 (4)

India Women - 124/10 (19.4)

Richa Ghosh 26 (13), Dayalan Hemalatha 20 (22);

Nashra Sandhu 3-30 (4), Nida Dar 2-23 (4)

Pakistan Women won by 13 runs
