Pakistan began day three of the third Test on a high note, bowling out Australia for 299 runs thanks to Aamer Jamal's six-wicket haul, securing a 14-run lead. However, Australia swiftly shifted momentum in their favour as Mitchell Starc claimed two early breakthroughs.

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Saim Ayub joined hands and put on a sensational 57-run stand, but Pakistan's fortunes quickly changed as Josh Hazlewood's sensational three-wicket over led to a collapse, with the Shan Masood-led side losing five wickets for just 10 runs.

In the opening delivery of the 25th over, Hazlewood dismissed Saud Shakeel, followed by the nightwatchman Sajid Khan losing his off-stump to Josh on the third ball of the same over. The final blow came as Salman Ali Agha departed on the fifth ball, courtesy of Hazlewood.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 313 runs on the board in the first innings, driven by half-century knocks from Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman, and the unexpected star Aamer Jamal. Jamal, batting at number nine, stole the show with a quickfire 82 runs off 97 balls, contributing to an impressive 86-run partnership for the 10th wicket alongside Mir Hamza.

Pakistan, despite the earlier lead of 14 runs, faced embarrassment on day three, finishing at 68 for seven wickets. The responsibility now lies with Mohammad Rizwan and Aamer Jamal to steer the innings on day four.
