Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli sustained his purple patch in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, smashing a glorious fifty in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's ongoing group-stage encounter against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

After providing RCB with a solid start, Kohli eventually brought up his half-century with a massive six off Riyan Parag's bowling.

The incident occurred in the eleventh over when Rajasthan Royals' captain Sanju Samson brought part-time spinner Riyan Parag into the attack to break the scintillating first wicket stand between Kohli and Du Plessis.

However, his decision backfired on the hosts, with Kohli neutralising Parag through his blistering hitting.

The right-arm finger spinner had a good start to his over, conceding only two runs off his first three deliveries. However, Kohli didn't let him bowl an economic over, hammering him for a straight six to complete his fifty.

It was a short delivery from Parag as Kohli muscled it straight down the ground, delivering the ball over the long on fence for a six. The incredible hit helped the talismanic batter maintain his consistency in the IPL this season, as he recorded his third half century in the tournament.

Riding on Kohli and Du Plessis' batting heroics, RCB are in a commanding position in the game, placed at 111 for none in 12.3 overs as of writing.
